LINCOLN RIGHT TO LIFE ACTION ALERT – FEBRUARY 5, 2009: It is with deep sadness that we report Lincoln
Planned Parenthood will be doing abortions 3 days a week this month (Tuesdays –
Thursdays – Fridays). PLEASE pray on these days from 6:30am to 3:30pm for the
mothers, the fathers, the doctors and nurses for a conversion of hearts &
the closure of this clinic.

BENEDICT XVI FOR FEBRUARY 2009 – Church Pastors: That the Churchs’ pastors may be ever more
docile to the action of the Holy Spirit as they teach and serve the people of
God. Peace in Africa: Guided by the 2nd Special Assembly of
the African Synod of Bishops, may the local Church find effective ways to
promote reconciliation, justice and peace.
ST. PATRICK SCHOOL NEWS: Sunday, February 22nd – 20th Annual
Spaghetti Supper, serving from 5:00-7:30pm in the Church Basement..
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION:
CCD CLASSES: Wed, February
18 regular class, 7:00-8:15pm in the school. There will be class on Ash
Wednesday, February 25th. We need this time to prepare your
children for First Confession (March 7th), First Communion (March 29th),
and Confirmation (April 29th).
CYO/GODPARENT GROUPS:
Wednesday, February 18, meet at home of Godparents.
NEXT RCIA class is
Thursday, February 19 at 7:00pm in the School Library. The topic will be morality.
World Marriage Day
– Sunday, February 15th. Married couples are invited to renew their
vows at the Masses. A new website created by the USCCB – www.foryourmarriage.org has a wealth
of excellent information and interactive offerings for couples preparing for
marriage and for marriage enrichment.

Mattern, St Gregory the Great Seminary, College 2. Please remember Stephen in a
special way in your daily prayers and for all those discerning a vocation,
especially Adam Sughroue and Neal Hock.
THE ALTAR SOCIETY – wishes to thank those members of
the parish who provided cookies for the military. We mailed 24 boxes. We ran
out of Altar Society year books for the 11:00am Mass. More have been printed and
are available at the entrances to the Church. Please place your dues in the
collection basket.
OUR LADY OF FATIMA CIRCLE – will meet on Tuesday,
February 17th at 7:00pm at the home of Willetta Bieker, 604 East 5th
Street.
BARGAIN BAZAAR NEWS – Come in and see your growing
child’s clothing cost less. Shoes -- $1.00 per bag (no boots please). You
will also save money on clothing for the rest of the family.

AS A PART -- of World Day of the Sick, February
11, 2009, there will be anointing of the sick following each of the Masses this

LENTEN PROGRAM – LIVING EVERYDAY WITH PASSION AND PURPOSE – A DVD
Presentation by MATTHEW KELLY -- bestselling author of “Seven Pillars of
Catholic Spirituality” – will begin Sunday, March 1st, at 4:00pm
in the School Library. Six weeks, one hour each. No advance
registration is needed.
STRESS IN YOUR MARRIAGE?

is a program for married couples that feel bored, frustrated, or angry in their

ST. PATRICK TRACK TEAM – needs assistant coaches to help with field events
during the 2009 track season. Practices start after 5:00pm. If you are able
to spare a couple of days a week for 30-45 minutes it would be a tremendous
help. Track practice will start March 2nd. For more info or if you
would like to help, please contact Becky Meixner at 345-2945. High school and
college students are also welcome to help.
GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP: Are
you an adult who has recently lost a loved one? Consider Community Hospital’s
grief support group to help you find healing.
For: Hospice families or any adult who has
experienced a recent loss of a loved one.
Where: Community Hospital Nebraska Conference Room.
When: 8 sessions beginning February 24. Meetings on
Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00pm. (This is a closed support group, new members will
not be added after February 24th.)
Cost: No charge to attend. – Support for this program

The Future of Our Rural Parishes:
What Is Your Role?
Much
of the Diocese of Lincoln is rural. How do we prepare for the future in those
areas? Most importantly we need to pray for God’s guidance. Additionally, our
own actions and proper planning will allow each family to have role in the
future of the Diocese of Lincoln.
The
season of Lent is a great time to renew our faith and our mission in the Church
to welcome our Risen Lord.
Please
plan to attend this conference to learn about your role in stewardship, planned
giving and end of life issues. The conference will be held here at St. Patrick
Church. It will start at 2:00pm and end with a Mass celebrated by Bishop
Bruskewitz at 6:00pm followed with a soup supper.
