PARISH COUNCIL ELECTIONS – The Parish Council is an advisory board, with no administrative powers, that works to advise the pastor about many aspects of parish life, -- finances, adult & child education, buildings & grounds, and liturgical, to name a few. Parish Council members need to be hard workers who are ready to find and implement solutions if there is a problem; need to be able to get others involved in the solutions; and need to set the example for others. They should be dedicated Catholics, involved, prayerful, advocates of Catholic education (school, CCD, CYO), and team players. The members of the Council serve the parish for three years. Nominations for three new Council members are needed. Election will be held Saturday/Sunday, December 6 & 7th.

WITHOUT CHANGING YOUR WILL – you can leave a gift to our parish. Designate our parish or other Diocesan charity as the beneficiary of all or a portion of your IRA or 401K. Your funds have grown tax free in your IRA or 401K, and your heirs could be taxed at a high rate when the funds are distributed. If you donate these funds, the money passes directly to our parish, tax-free. Contact your IRA or 401K plan administrator for a change of beneficiary designation form.

             Leave your Savings Account or Certificate of Deposit (CD) to our parish or other Diocesan charity. Simply change the beneficiary to make the Savings Account or CD payable upon death to the Diocesan charity of your choice. The charity will receive the funds when you are deceased. For more information contact your financial institution. **Contact me for help and additional options for planned gifts. Les Mach, Planned Giving Officer, Diocese of Lincoln. les-mach@cdolinc.net or 402-443-6180.

HOLIDAY DINNER – The holidays can be a lonely time or a struggle financially. In an effort to help ease these burdens a little, St. Patrick Church will host a holiday dinner on Sunday, January 4hh in the Church basement. This feast includes ham, potatoes, vegetables, roll and dessert, plus ample time for visiting with others.

             A second collection will be taken up Saturday/Sunday, December 13/14 to help defray the cost of this meal. Personal invitations will be sent out to many names being compiled on a list. If you know of someone who should be invited to this dinner, Catholic or not, please contact the Rectory. R.S.V.P by Friday, December 30th.

             Help will be needed for cooking, serving, greeting, decorating, desserts, salads, clean up, advertising, etc. Watch the bulletin for more details.

ANIMA CHRISTI

Soul of Christ, sanctify me;

Body of Christ, save me;

Blood of Christ, inebriate me;

Water from the side of Christ, wash me;

Passion of Christ, strengthen me;

O good Jesus, hear me;

Within Your wounds, hide me;

Separated from You, let me never be;

From the evil one protect me;

At the hour of my death, call me;

And close to You bid me;

That with Your saints, I may be,

praising You forever and ever. Amen
